About Brenée Orozco
I was born at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. Eventually, my father was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base where I grew up. I graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1991. I attended college at the University of Arkansas -Beebe Branch later that fall. However, after having no transportation and living more than twenty (20) miles from school, I enlisted in the United States Army. I met Jorge Orozco while I was stationed in Germany and later married him at the Cumberland County Courthouse in 1994. Our first daughter was born at Womack Army Hospital in 1995 at which time she received her Baby Certificate under the Red, White, and Blue of The 82nd Airborne Division!
Between 1994 and 1995, I attended Fayetteville Technical Community College, worked as a cook for the ROTC program on Fort Bragg, struggled in Chemistry at Fayetteville State University and nurtured our daughter. Our family moved to Germany in 1996 where I mothered our daughter and continued my education. Sometimes I worked outside of the home. I was blessed with a position as a substitute teacher for the Department of Defense Schools. And I had the pleasure to volunteer to teach others English while I supported Jorge in his military career. Jorge received orders to West Point, New York where I gave birth to our second daughter in 1999. While at West Point, I continued to work while I pursued my education.
In 2002, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. That same year, Jorge received orders to Korea leading me to continue my education as a full-time law student in Arkansas while caring for our two daughters. In 2003, Jorge returned to the states but was stationed at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Oklahoma. I completed two additional years of law school while ensuring that our family remained intact despite the distance. In 2005, I obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Jorge returned to Korea in 2006 wile the girls and I stayed in Texas until he returned. Finally, our family came back to Fort Bragg in 2007. Once we were back in North Carolina, I volunteered as a legal assistant at the 18th Airborne Corps Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. I studied for the bar and become licensed to practice law in 2008.
I, Attorney Brenée Orozco, mainly practice in juvenile court but I am also called upon to advocate in other civil proceedings in addition to certain criminal matters. Whether it is being a wife, a mother, Plaintiff or Defense Counsel, there is so much that occurred in my life between 1991 to present day that keeps me reminding myself, my husband, my children, my clients and countless others to: Own your power and never surrender it to your circumstances!
