Let us be a positive support to others as well as to ourselves as we work to help and not hinder. Embrace education and those who educate and those who dedicate their lives to empowering by educating. Protect our children from anyone, anything, or policy that would harm them while we teach them to respect themselves and others. Work to give our children more than what we had while they appreciate the value of work. Combat substance abuse but remind the substance abuser that he is not his addiction. Acknowledge domestic violence and honor the survivor’s resilience and ability to own her/his power and self-worth. Get that job that does more than pay the bills but also allows an opportunity to build abundant savings. Agree that mental illness does not require secrecy, shame, and isolation. Continue to believe that love lives and frees broken hearts, minds, and spirits. May we be grateful to and honor those that place themselves and their families in harm’s way for our benefit and may they and their families be protected.
May we know the rights by the United States Constitution and the North Carolina State Constitution and that no person or policy succeed in depriving us of those rights.
Let's just battle the negativity and simply do better because it is, in fact, possible!
